Host of 101.1 the River in the Morning (weekdays 5:30a-8:45a)
Josh Crowell has had a variety of roles at Radio Dubuque. While in college, he started as a board operator for 1370 KDTH, until landing a fulltime job hosting Planet 80’s on KAT FM. From there Josh had various shifts until taking over The River, and loves helping people start their day off. Josh speaks often of the Denver Broncos, usually has a good joke to tell, and wants to retire on a beach where he can go fishing daily.
101.1 the River Middays (weekdays 11a-2p)
Always upbeat and friendly, Misty Woolf has been a part of the 101.1 The River family for years, and is a familiar voice in the Tri-States. Whether spending time with her husband or animals, you can always find Misty with a smile on her face, and a positive attitude. But don’t let Misty fool you, she also loves a cold beverage, a good concert, and cheering on her Missouri Tigers.
101.1 the River Afternoon Drive (weekdays 2p-7p)
Maverick Lee has been in radio for several years now, and his love for radio is only comparable to his love for Country Music. While he may not be a hardcore fitness guru, he enjoys spending time outdoors. This includes: hiking, cycling, riding his motorcycle, and especially Country Music Festivals. He actually met Mrs. Maverick at a country concert, so you never know where you might run into him. Could be on the trails, on the road, or at a show.
101.1 the River News Director
Jesse Gavin is KDTH’s News Director. He anchors morning and noon newscasts each weekday. Jesse is a native of the Tri-States, growing up in Cascade. His first job in radio came while he was still in high school, and he’s been “on the air” ever since. Jesse has an extensive background of covering news across the state of Iowa, with past stops in places like Mason City, Pella, and Cedar Falls. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including three First Place honors for Excellence in Anchoring from the Iowa Broadcast News Association. Jesse is a proud alumnus of Wartburg College in Waverly, and also cheers for the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Tennessee Titans. He has won a couple of chili cook-offs with his famous “Triple Pork Chili” and he likes to think he’s pretty handy around a grill. When he’s not reading the news, Jesse is usually watching sports, listening to live music, or bragging about his nephew, Rowan, who lives in the Twin Cities.
101.1 the River News Reporter
For 37 years, Ed Anderson has dedicated himself to broadcast news and information. When it comes to experience, Ed has done it all. From his first stint at KBBG in Waterloo where he covered all the bases as a news reporter, sportscaster, and disc jockey to his time behind the mic and in front of the camera on Waterloo Cablevision calling sports play by play to his days as assignment editor, newsman and farm director at KXEL. Ed’s hobbies include bass guitar, stand up comedy, and watching the National Football League.
101.1 the River Sports Director
Tim Lary covers the Tri-States and national sports scene. Tim is the play-by-play voice for Dubuque High School sports and the University of Dubuque Spartans. Over his broadcasting career, Tim has been honored by the Iowa Associated Press and Iowa Broadcast News Association for sports broadcasting excellence including many first place honors for his play-by-play work from the broadcast booth.
Outside of work, Tim enjoys time in Bible Study and church activities, spending time with family, running, fishing, metal detecting and following his favorite sports teams the Cardinals, Royals, Vikings, and OKC Thunder.
