Low-Income Energy Assistance Program

Through the Month of April, Individuals at or below the Federal Poverty Guidelines are eligible to apply for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program facilitated through the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program. Persons in Dubuque, Delaware, Jones and Jackson counties can download an application and get complete information at www.hacap.org/energy  

Mt. Calvary and Mt. Olivet Cemeteries Spring Clean-up

The annual Spring Clean-up for Mt. Calvary and Mt. Olivet Cemeteries will begin on Monday April 19th and run through Friday April 23rd. Please remove all items and decorations you wish to save no later than Sunday April 18th. All items not removed will be discarded. Cemetery Management requests that no decorations or plantings be placed on grave sites until Saturday, April 24th.

Help Support The Ohnward Fine Arts Center

The Ohnward Fine Arts Center has received a charitable contribution in the amount of $20,000 from Gary and Marilyn Drew. They are asking the Center to come up with a matching $20,000 of its own donations by April 30th. The Ohnward Fine Arts Center is a non-profit 501 C3 which means all donations are tax deductible. Carnegie-Stout Public Library Free Program

The Carnegie-Stout Public Library will offer a special mystery-by-mail program to city resident cardholders during the month of May. Venture Into the Wild with Girl Scouts 

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois are partnering with Dubuque County Conservation, Dubuque County Hunter Safety Instructors, and Iowa DNR Conservation Officers to teach area girls outdoor survival skills. Dubuque Police Department ‘Shop with a Cop’ Program Donations

Donations are being accepted through August to support the annual Dubuque Police Department ‘Shop with a Cop’ program which purchases back-to-school clothing and supplies for area children. Donors can make checks out to Dubuque Police Protective Association and can be delivered to the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center at 770 Iowa Street. Caregiver Support Group for Caregivers of Dementia Patients/Family Members
